Megan Cunningham, LSW

Megan is a Licensed Social Worker. She received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Loras College (Go Duhawks!), and her Master’s in Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University. Megan has been working with children for almost 10 years in many different settings.  She has extensive experience treating children with Autism Spectrum Disorder having worked in a Therapeutic Day School for the last 4 years. Megan not only works to support the students but their families as well. She has experience facilitating social emotional learning groups and parent support meetings. 


Megan embraces the DIR (Developmental, Individual Difference, Relationship-Based) Model.  Utilizing this model, she brings a relationship-based therapeutic approach to her clients helping them to be empowered. Megan believes that building a strong relationship, and obtaining regulation is the key to a successful therapeutic process. She promotes utilizing play and an individuals’ strengths to further support their ability to process different emotional themes.  Megan is passionate about helping others learn and grow to build higher emotional capacities and understanding. Her goal in working with individuals is to make them feel strong and capable in order to establish independence in all aspects of life. 


In her free time Megan loves spending time with her friends, younger sister, parents and large extended family. As well as her fur babies, Miley her dog, and Minnie her cat. She loves traveling, going for walks, and taking cycling classes.
