Michele Hernandez, LCSW
Michele has almost 30 years experience as a Social Worker and has spent her career in hospital and school settings, as well as in private practice. Michele received her BSW and MSW at University of Illinois at Chicago and continued education through Loyola University.
She believes everyone has inner strengths and it is important to help each client identify and use those strengths. Over the years Michele has gained personal and professional experience helping people work through health issues, life changes, social conflicts, depression, anxiety, and crisis situations. She has had the opportunity to help parents and children work through the challenges of living with ADHD, sensory struggles, lack of executive function, and a diagnosis of autism. She enjoys teaching Social Thinking concepts to help children strengthen positive behaviors and social interactions. She understands how overwhelming parenting can be and aims to strengthen skills and family functioning by utilizing modalities such as family systems theory, solution focused therapy, CBT and DBT. Michele has two boys in college, and lives with her husband and dog Teegan.
